The National Men's Institute (NMI) have expanded their ambitions by setting up a Men's Shed in Wokingham Without.
Is our fantastic Shed just what you have been looking for?
What we do:
We have a range of (wood working) manual and machine tools in our workshop.
BUT our Shed is not just about working with wood:
We have a 3D printer where you can create items only limited by your imagination.
We have our own wi-fi which enables a couple of computers for all to use (or bring your own along).
There are currently several special interest groups, with on-going projects:
Electronics/Computing
3D Printer
Gardening
Amateur Radio
You don't need to have joined for you to pop in when we are open to have a look around.
If you are arriving by car, please park in our carpark and never in the road. Should the carpark be full (it hasn't happed yet), please park at St. Sebastian's Memorial Hall on Nine Mile ride and walk through.
You can use the facilities we have at the Shed to work on your own projects (on your own or with a chum or two). There are also Shed-wide projects to get invloved with.
Of course, if all you are looking for is some other chaps to socialise with and put the world to rights over a cuppa and a biscuit then our Shed is also the right place for you.
We currently have 50+ chaps who are paid-up NMI Shedders! What about you joining us?
Have a quick check (see the Opening Calendar page) first to ensure there will be a Key Holder present for your visit.
If you are interested in joining, please get in touch via the Contact Us page.

Social Tuesdays:
The first Tuesday of each month is Social Tuesday. No work with tools/machines is done on Social Tuesdays. Instead Members, plus anyone interested in having a chat about joining, are invited to pop in for a chat and a cuppa. There will be biscuits!
These Tuesdays are an ideal opportunity to drop in, meet some of our members and see what we are all about and what might interest you.
If you are visiting by car, please use the carpark and under no circumstances park in the road. If the carpark is full, come back later or park at St. Sebastian's Memorial Hall (Nine Mile Ride) and walk through.
If you are arriving by bicycle, you can park it in our fenced-off patio area.
The next Social Tuesday is on 7th October 2025. We are open from 10am to 4pm.
